Terms of use
Plain English where possible, legalese only where necessary. By using koloab.com or the Koloab plugin, you agree to the following.
Last updated: 11 June 2026
1. Who you're dealing with
Koloab is software made and sold by Sam Lucas ("we", "us"), operating from the United Kingdom. Contact: support@koloab.com.
2. The plans
- Starter (free) — the file library limited to 10 files, the notice board, branded login and security, the Command Centre and core analytics.
- Standard — everything unlimited: files, company news, team directory, external contacts and the homepage background photo. £12.99/month, £119.99/year or £359.99 lifetime.
- Premium — Standard plus full custom branding, advanced analytics (no-result search reporting) and in-plugin email support. £16.99/month, £169.99/year or £509.99 lifetime.
All prices are per WordPress site, in GBP, and may change for new purchases; active subscriptions keep their agreed price for the current term. Purchases and billing are processed by Freemius, our merchant of record, under their checkout terms. "Lifetime" means for the lifetime of the Koloab product, with no further payment.
3. Licence
The Koloab plugin code is licensed under GPL-2.0-or-later. Your subscription (or lifetime purchase) licenses the activation of paid features on the number of sites you purchased for, plus access to updates while the licence is active. You may not resell, re-licence or redistribute licence keys.
4. If a subscription lapses
The plugin keeps working and your data is never deleted by us. Paid features simply revert to the level of your active plan (for example, Premium branding reverts to the standard Koloab appearance). Saved settings are retained and reapply if a licence is reactivated.
5. Support
Email support is included with the Premium plan, via the in-plugin support form or support@koloab.com. Support is provided on a best-effort basis only: we will genuinely try to help, but we make no promises or guarantees about response times, resolution times or outcomes. Support does not include custom development, fixing conflicts caused by third-party themes/plugins, or server administration. We may decline requests outside this scope.
6. Your responsibilities
- Backups are yours. Koloab stores files in your WordPress Media Library and content in your WordPress database, and deliberately ships no backup utility. You are responsible for maintaining and testing backups of your site, and for choosing hosting with adequate storage.
- You're responsible for the content your team uploads, for whom you give access to, and for complying with the laws that apply to your organisation's data.
- Keep WordPress, PHP and the plugin reasonably up to date — minimum requirements are WordPress 6.0 and PHP 7.4.
7. No warranty
The plugin is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law — consistent with its GPL licence. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every theme, plugin or hosting environment.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to Koloab is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost data (see clause 6: backups), lost profits or business interruption. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Refunds
Refund requests are handled through Freemius and considered case by case in line with applicable consumer law. The free Starter plan exists precisely so you can evaluate Koloab properly before paying.
10. This website
Content on koloab.com is provided for general information. The Koloab name, logo and site design are ours; don't pass them off as your own. (The plugin's output on your intranet is, of course, yours to brand — that's the point of Premium.)
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
12. Changes
We may update these terms; the date above always reflects the current version. Material changes to paid plans will be communicated to active subscribers.
